This stunning Florence engineered oak flooring has been given a distinctive dark brown colour through the application of an antique stain. This antique oak stain gives an instantly aged appearance and while the entire oak is considerably darkened, the darker areas of the nature grade oak’s summer growth rings are made even darker. Engineered antique oak is popular in traditional French farmhouse and country cottage interiors, as well as with trendy shabby chic styles.

Florence Engineered Antique Oak Brush Matt Lacquered Loc FlooringFlorence Engineered Antique Oak Brush Matt Lacquered Loc Flooring offers remarkably good value for such a unique, distinctive Antique oak floor with a detailed, darker colour. This has been achieved by Florence through the use of an HDF core in their engineered oak flooring. This HDF, or High Density Fibreboard, core is made through the compression of processed wood and often takes advantage of off cuts and recycled making it also environmentally positive.

With this HDF core, this engineered antique oak flooring has a total thickness of 10.5mm, thinner than most oak flooring, but still highly durable due to the strengths that an engineered floor offers. For example this flooring can be laid over underfloor heating while a 20mm thick solid oak flooring couldn’t. Of this 10.5mm thickness, 2.5mm is nature grade antique oak which explains its cheap price but also gives a near identical appearance and feel to a solid oak floor.

The finish applied to this Florence engineered oak flooring furthers the antique oak feel of this flooring. The brushed treatment abrades away softer areas of the oak to give a subtle texture that follows the grain and the matt lacquered finish creates a durable, clear surface layer that protects the antique oak, makes it easier to clean while not drastically altering the natural appearance achieved through the antique oak stain.

Florence Engineered Antique Oak Brush Matt Lacquered Loc Flooring was previously produced with plank widths of 148mm which has since been altered to 125mm wide in this antique oak flooring. It is also now known as Fusion Antique Oak Brush Matt Lacquered Loc Engineered Flooring. The easy click system is used to lay this dark brown Florence flooring. The bevelled edges give a traditional feel to this floor while adding another dimension through the V grooves they create.
